In a statement by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Guang Bere, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has offered his condolences to the family of the late Justice Alfred Sagai, who passed away at the age of 69 after a protracted illness.

During a visit to the bereaved family at Yelwa Club Junction, Bukuru, Governor Mutfwang described the late Justice Sagai as a man of humility, integrity, and selfless service to God and humanity.

He noted that Justice Sagai was an embodiment of fairness, justice, and compassion, whose contributions to peace and unity in Plateau State and the nation will be remembered by generations to come.

Reflecting on his interactions with the late Justice, Governor Mutfwang recalled that he had personally intervened to ensure the payment of Justice Sagai’s gratuity to enable him to access proper medical care. This, he said, temporarily restored his health before the unfortunate relapse that led to his passing.

The Governor also recounted a visit from Justice Sagai to his office after his recovery, during which they discussed critical issues concerning the development of Bokkos Local Government Area and Plateau State as a whole.

Governor Mutfwang admonished young people to make the most of every opportunity available to them and to embrace values that promote longevity and service to society. He emphasized that it is the hope of every generation that the youth would live to honor and bury their elders.

On behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended his deepest sympathies to Justice Sagai’s wife, children, extended family, and the entire people of Bokkos Local Government Area.

He prayed for God’s continued comfort and strength to help them bear the painful loss of the distinguished jurist.

Responding on behalf of the family, Mr. Jophel Sagai expressed profound gratitude to Governor Mutfwang and his entourage for the visit. He noted that the Governor’s presence had brought immense comfort to the family.

He further described him as a father and a man whose life was marked by wisdom and moral guidance, positively impacting all who crossed his path.
