Governor Mutfwang Congratulate General Christopher Gwabin Musa on His Nomination as Minister of Defence, Commends President Tinubu for the Wise Choice.

In a statement by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has joined countless well-wishers, admirers, and associates in congratulating the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, on his nomination as the new Minister of Defence by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a congratulatory message, Governor Mutfwang expressed delight over the nomination of General Musa to this highly strategic office following the resignation of Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar. He conveyed his profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for deeming General Musa worthy of the noble responsibility of providing leadership in safeguarding and defending the nation.
Governor Mutfwang described General Musa as a gallant, courageous, and exceptionally competent officer who has made immeasurable sacrifices in fostering peace, unity, and national cohesion. He commended his doggedness and steadfast commitment during his distinguished tenure as Chief of Defence Staff, expressing confidence that he will bring renewed vigour, clarity of purpose, and effective strategy to Nigeria’s ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, and other security challenges.
He noted that General Musa’s appointment is a fitting recognition for a man whose life embodies intellectual depth, professional excellence, discipline, and an unshakable dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.
Governor Mutfwang further praised General Musa’s illustrious career in the Nigerian Army, highlighting his extensive experience as Deputy Chief of Staff, Training/Operations, Headquarters Infantry Centre and Corps; Commander, Sector 3, Operation Lafiya Dole; and Commander, Sector 3, Multinational Joint Task Force in the Lake Chad Region.
He recalled his appointment as Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai in 2021, his subsequent role as Commander of the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps, and his elevation as Chief of Defence Staff by President Tinubu in 2023, milestones that make his current nomination as Minister of Defence truly a “round peg in a round hole.”
Governor Mutfwang expressed strong confidence that General Musa will not disappoint President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or Nigerians, and called for collective efforts at all levels to secure the nation and win the war against terrorism and violent crimes.
On behalf of his family, the government, and the good people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended his heartfelt felicitations to General Christopher Gwabin Musa on his nomination as Minister of Defence.
