Governor Mutfwang, Generating Wealth Through Healthcare_Zilla Dares Kanang

Governor Caleb Mutfwang commitments to improve healthcare delivery in recent time is evident that wealth is about to rain on the Plateau. This align with the popular saying, "Health is Wealth". It's a fact that Economic productivity is positively related to the health and well-being of the people.
The Governor since assumption of office embarked on an ambitious journey to revitalize the health sector in Plateau State, recognizing it as a cornerstone for the State's sustainable development and well-being. His vision is driven by a commitment to ensuring that all residents, regardless of their socio-economic status, have access to quality healthcare services.
Acknowledging the challenges that have plagued the state's health sector over the years, such as inadequate infrastructure, insufficient funding, and a shortage of skilled health professionals, Governor Mutfwang is determined to address these issues through comprehensive reforms and strategic investments.
At the heart of his vision is the belief that a healthy population is essential for the socio-economic advancement of Plateau State. By focusing on strengthening primary healthcare services, expanding the state's healthcare infrastructure, and enhancing the capacity of healthcare professionals through continuous training and development, Governor Mutfwang aims to create a more responsive and efficient health system.
His first move to enhancing good health of the Plateau population,the distribution of insecticide treated nets (ITNs) to household across the State to reduced the burden of malaria. The program was carried out by Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management GHSC-PSM) and Breakthrough ACTION-Nigeria (BA-N).
Another program implemented during that period to eliminate maleria was the distribution of malaria preventive drugs to children from 3 months to 59 months in all the household across Plateau State. That program was lead by Nrs. Ndak Kizito through malaria consortium.
In the same spirit to revitalized the health sector, the Governor swing to launch the Plateau State Emergency Medical centre and Ambulance system to enhance the health well-being of the citizens. The facility, which is equipped with modern technology and build to a global standard. The modern facility has a cold room that maintains temperature below -80°C, it has a modern forklift capable of reaching the height of 3.1 meters. It has pallets for efficient movement of supplies. Also a mini quality laboratory for preliminary pharmaceutical assessments and drug information centre to monitor adverse drug reactions and combat counterfeit medicines.
Considering the decay of Infrastructures in the Primary Healthcare Centres across the State, the Governor had recently awarded a contract and upgrade of 82 healthcare Centres across the State to address the pressing challenges faced by the people of Plateau State, particularly on healthcare. This is funded under the IMPACT program. They will cover at least four PHC's in each of the 17 Local Government Areas of the State.
Most recent is the provision of Solar power to 25 primary healthcare Centres across the State. The Nigeria Solar for health project (NISHP) will go a long way in enhancing and strengthen healthcare services delivery, most especially in rural areas of the State.
