Amidst the resounding echoes of hymns and heartfelt prayers, the Rwamg Pam Stadium in Jos on Sunday was transformed into a sanctuary of gratitude and unity as the citizens of Plateau State gathered to celebrate the first anniversary of Governor Caleb Mutwang's tenure in an interdenominational thanksgiving service.
With renowned gospel singers lending their voices to the chorus of praise and worship, the air was thick with a spirit of harmony and hope.
In a packed stadium, Governor Mutwang, alongside his wife, Barr. Helen Mutfwang expressed gratitude for God's guidance and pledged to foster unity and prosperity in the state.
In a statement by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, He attributed his successful first year in office to divine intervention and the support of the citizens of Plateau State. He vowed to continue uniting the people, alleviating poverty, and advancing the state's prosperity.
He acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's support and further reaffirmed his commitment to intensifying efforts to restore security and resettle displaced persons.
Governor Mutfwang said, "In the coming years, we will do things that will better our lives, making sure that our youths are redeemed from vices and are put on the right track to be able to achieve their destinies. We are working to ensure that our women will be greatly helped so that they can become the mothers that we desire in our state.
"On insecurity, I want to assure you that we are doing the much we can, and we will continue to look for better ways of improving the security situation. We will not rest on our oars until every inch of land belonging to the Plateau people is secured. By the grace of God, this will happen.
"We have trusted God that this year, we will go to the farm. This year, we will farm better than last year and God will visit us this year with abundance and prosperity. We are being distracted by security challenges, but the main enemy we need to fight is poverty", He declared.
Governor Mutwang added, "We are working to ensure that God delivers Plateau from poverty. This is because He did not ordain us to be poor people. He has blessed us with every good blessing in the land. Our weather is second to none in this nation and we are trusting Him that the days of our favor have come"

former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah David Jang, the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, the State Chairman, of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Polycarp Lubo in their respective goodwill messages, pledged support to the Governor's vision of building a united and prosperous Plateau State.
In a sermon, Rev. Silas Yakwo encouraged the Governor to remain steadfast and seek divine guidance in his actions and programs.
Taking his text from Psalms 51:11-14, Rev. Yakwo stated that thanksgiving should be a lifestyle for every Christian and urged the Governor to shun detractions and focus on the good work he has started.
The service featured prayers, music, and special blessings for peace, unity, and prosperity in Plateau State.
Dignitaries including PDP National officials, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Dewan, the State PDP Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan, Chief of Staff Government House Jos, Commissioners and Head of Agencies. Others are serving and former Senators, serving and former members of the House of Representatives attended the event.
A vote of thanks was delivered by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc Samuel Jatau, and appealed for continued support to the Mutfwang administration to enable it to consolidate the achievements so far recorded.
