In a statement on Saturday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Friday, stepped beyond the formal responsibilities of governance to extend heartfelt condolences to two grieving families.
The are those of Rt. Hon. Titus Alams and Apostle Danjuma Musa, demonstrating once again that true leadership walks hand-in-hand with the people in both joy and sorrow.
Accompanied by his Deputy, Her Excellency Ngo Josephine Piyo, and other members of the State Executive Council, Governor Mutfwang first visited the residence of Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, Special Adviser on Workers’ Welfare and Corporate Affairs, to commiserate over the passing of his beloved wife, Mrs. Habibatu Titus Alams, who died at the age of 58 after a brief illness.
“In moments like this, we must turn to a realm higher than ourselves,” the Governor said. “The Holy Spirit, our comforter, never fails. While words may be inadequate, the Spirit ministers peace. May He strengthen this family from within and help them accept what has come to pass.”
Governor Mutfwang described the late Mrs. Alams as “a woman of grace and a blessing to her generation,” urging the family to find comfort in the impactful life she lived.
“The testimonies of her life are a powerful legacy,” he noted. “She lived well, touched many, and left an indelible mark. May her children continue to uphold her virtues, and may her husband receive divine strength to navigate this difficult season.”
Speaking on behalf of the family, Dr. Philip Alams expressed gratitude to the Governor and his entourage for their compassion, describing the late Mrs. Alams as a God-fearing woman who built a loving and resilient home.
Governor Mutfwang also visited Apostle Danjuma Musa, General Overseer of Global Flames Ministry, following the passing of his mother, Nana Briscilla Gaksu, who died peacefully at the age of 96.
Acknowledging the gift of longevity and a life well lived, the Governor said, “Nana Briscilla’s departure is not only a loss to her immediate family but also to the larger faith community. We celebrate a life that was full of service, faith, and spiritual investment. In the end, it is not the length of years that defines a life, but the depth of its impact.”
He added, “Let us live in ways that inspire truth, integrity, and service in the generations to come. May the Lord comfort Apostle Musa and his family with the peace that only heaven can provide.”
In his response, Apostle Musa expressed profound appreciation for the Governor’s gesture, describing the visit as a testament to empathetic leadership.
“This is more than a condolence visit,” he said. “It reveals that our leaders are not only with us in governance but also in our moments of personal grief. We are grateful and encouraged.”
