Governor Mutfwang Sympathize with Senator Diket Plang Over Passing of Wife, Prof. Janet Diket Plang.

In a statement on Wednesday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has paid a condolence visit to Senator Diket Plang, who represents Plateau Central Senatorial District, following the passing of his beloved wife, Prof. Janet Diket Plang, after a brief illness.
Governor Mutfwang was accompanied on the visit by members of the State Executive Council, met on ground the elders' statesman and former Governor of Plateau State, senator Jonah David Jang. While commiserating with the bereaved family, Governor Mutfwang described the late Professor as a distinguished academic and a woman of great virtue whose death is deeply painful and difficult to comprehend.
“We may not fully understand why this has happened, but we trust in God who knows the end from the beginning. She was a good woman who touched many lives positively. We thank God that her life was impactful and not in vain,” the Governor said.
He offered prayers for Senator Diket Plang, his children, and the entire family, asking God to grant them strength and comfort during this trying time. “Though this is indeed a dark moment, God remains our source of hope and consolation,” he added.
On behalf of his family, the government, and the good people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended heartfelt condolences to Senator Plang, his family, and the entire community. He urged them to take solace in the enduring legacy of Prof. Janet Diket Plang, a woman whose life was marked by humility, service, and compassion.
In his response, Senator Diket Plang expressed gratitude to the Governor for the visit and the show of solidarity during this period of grief. He described his late wife as a pillar of strength, a God-fearing, humble, and compassionate woman who stood by him at all times.
“My wife was my rock, gentle, supportive, and deeply devoted. Though she is no longer with us, I am consoled that she is now at rest with the Lord. We remain grateful to God for the gift of her life,” he said.
Senator Plang also commended Governor Mutfwang for the administration’s efforts in expanding the rural road network across Plateau State and particularly for connecting his village to this infrastructure.
In the course of the visit, Governor Mutfwang, Senator Jang, and members of the State Executive Council also visited the residence of Prof. Monday Mangvwat, the father of the deceased, in Rayfield, Jos. There, the Governor offered further words of encouragement, urging the family to continue to find strength in God.
Prof. Mangvwat expressed appreciation to Governor Mutfwang for his exemplary leadership and for personally identifying with the family in their moment of loss. He noted that the Governor’s visit brought great comfort and reassurance to them.
