In a heartfelt demonstration of his commitment to youth development and educational advancement, Chief Dr. Moses Nwan, mni, Ph.D., convened an Educational Support Program for secondary school students in Pushit Ward, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The event took place at the Mwaghavul College of Health Technology in Pushit and brought together stakeholders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, political representatives, and beneficiary students from the 28 polling units in the ward.
The ceremony began at 10:00 a.m. and included the presence of their Royal Highnesses, religious leaders, representatives from the PDP, APC, and other political parties, as well as youth and women’s organizations like CAN, JNI, MDA, PYC, MYM, and members of the Muslim community. This gathering reflected a rare unity of purpose across political, religious, and community lines, all celebrating education as a tool for transformation.
**Empowering the Next Generation**
Chief Dr. Nwan expressed joy and pride in the students' achievements, noting that their progress symbolizes hope for the future of the Pushit and Pukah districts. He revealed that this was the fourth in a series of empowerment programs he has organized in 2025 for the Pushit and Pukah communities, demonstrating his passion for his hometown. He reaffirmed his belief that consistent investment in education is the surest path to societal renewal.
In a symbolic gesture of support, sixty-one students from the 28 polling units and the Muslim community each received N25,000 as educational grants. Chief Nwan emphasized that his involvement in such acts of benevolence was inspired by the Great Commission Movement, Nigeria, which taught him the importance of raising disciples through service, discipline, and mentorship. Additionally, he provided funds under the trusteeship of Dr. Zechariah Kuden Pofi to help pay and offset examination fees for final-year students in the Pushit and Pukah districts. In his message to the benefiting students, he urged them to remain hardworking, disciplined, and steadfast, assuring them that diligence and determination lead to success.
A representative of the students, Miss Faith Panji from St. Peter’s College, Pushit, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the sponsor/organizer on behalf of her peers. She promised that they will uphold the trust placed in them by excelling academically and morally. They also pledged to support the re-election of Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for a second term in office so he can continue his mission of rebuilding Plateau State.
**Goodwill Messages**
Representatives from the PDP, APC, MDA, CAN, PYC, traditional rulers, and the Muslim community (Imam) delivered goodwill messages, describing Chief Dr. Nwan as a humble, passionate, and practical leader whose impact resonates throughout Pushit, Mangu, and Plateau State. They praised his exemplary leadership, likening him to a modern-day Nehemiah for his tireless efforts in rebuilding hope and fostering unity.
**Closing Remarks**
In his closing remarks, Chief Dr. Nwan expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for the opportunity to work in his office and for being a true leader who governs with the fear of God. He also expressed appreciation to Mr. Mathew Daton, the LGA PDP Chair, the entire party leadership, their Royal Highnesses, and all stakeholders for their prayers and continuous support. The event concluded with a symbolic affirmation of loyalty to His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, along with calls for the continuity of the current administration beyond 2027.
