In a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity, Mapis Isaac Marawes The Executive Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Council, Hon. Amalau Samuel Amalau, has directed the Supervisory Councillor for Works, Hon. Sati Abang, to immediately commence the extension of the Margif-Kopmur bridge in Mushere District.

The bridge, which had become unmotorable following the devastating floods of last year and its short length, had long posed difficulties for residents and motorists in the area. Although work on the bridge had commenced earlier under the close supervision of Hon. Abang, it was temporarily stalled due to renewed attacks in Mushere. With relative peace restored, the project has now resumed.

When completed, the bridge extension will provide great relief to the people of Margif-Kopmur and adjoining communities, ease transportation for motorists, and enhance the ability of security operatives to swiftly respond to threats in the area.

Hon. Amalau reiterated his commitment to infrastructural development across Bokkos, noting that the Margif-Kopmur bridge extension is one of many projects being undertaken under his leadership. Others include the construction of the Passankai bridge, a new shopping complex, several Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs), boreholes drilling across communities, as well as the extensive renovation of key buildings at the LGA Secretariat.

The Chairman assured residents that his administration remains dedicated to delivering tangible projects that will directly improve livelihoods and strengthen security across the local government area.
