Nigeria Resident Doctors Praise Governor Mutfwang for Transforming the Health Sector

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Usman Suleiman, has commended the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his remarkable commitment to strengthening the state's healthcare system through transformative policies and investments.

Dr. Suleiman specifically praised Governor Mutfwang for the full implementation of the Professional Allowance Table (PAT), a landmark achievement that has significantly improved the welfare and motivation of resident doctors working in the State Tertiary Health Institutions (STHIs).

He also lauded the governor's visionary leadership in prioritizing the health sector, citing the establishment of a state-of-the-art laboratory equipped with modern facilities that meets World Health Organization (WHO) standards. According to him, the facility represents a major step towards improving diagnostic services and healthcare outcomes in Plateau State.

Furthermore, NARD applauded the establishment of the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (PS-DMCMA), a strategic initiative aimed at ensuring the efficient procurement, storage, and distribution of essential medicines and medical supplies across the state.

The association also commended the introduction of the Plateau State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System, describing it as a timely intervention that will enhance emergency response and save countless lives.

Dr. Suleiman equally praised Governor Mutfwang for the recruitment of medical doctors and other qualified healthcare professionals across the state, noting that the move has strengthened the health workforce and improved access to quality healthcare services for the people of Plateau State.
