President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for his visionary leadership and commitment to improving public transportation, following the launch of the second phase of Metro buses in the state.
Speaking on Wednesday at the Benue State Government House during a meeting with stakeholders on the recent tragic attacks in Yelewata and Daudu communities of Guma Local Government Area, the President praised Governor Mutfwang’s proactive governance.
"I saw Plateau launching Metro transportation again. This is commendable. At least you are not borrowing to pay salaries now. Let’s do it again," President Tinubu remarked, acknowledging the significance of sustainable initiatives that directly impact the welfare of citizens.
Turning his attention to the security challenges in Benue, the President called for a united front among all stakeholders to end the wave of violence that has claimed several lives and displaced communities.
He appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, religious figures, and all citizens to partner with government at all levels in restoring peace. “I am deeply pained by the senseless killings. This must stop. We must all work together to end the bloodshed,” President Tinubu said with emotion.
The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting states in achieving security and development, emphasizing that collaborative efforts are crucial to lasting peace and progress in the region.
