Governor Caleb Mutfwang Buoyed by Electoral Fortunes, Sets Opposition on Edge_ by Buba James

On Wednesday October 21, 2026, an article with a screaming headline: GOV. MUTFWANG FLUMMOXED BY ELECTION-PHOBIA, BREACHES ELECTORAL ACT, ENGAGES IN RUSE MEDICAL OUTREACH was published on the social media platforms.

Several other areas were visited while still rigmaroling on the same spot just to justify that their attention-seeking enterprise was not worth the attention they sought to get. Sadly for them, it came to naught.

Ordinarily, we would have ignored the fact that it came from a known source that has repeatedly sought for attention in the last three and half years from the Caleb Mutfwang administration; this reply would not in any form dignify his characteristic struggles to paint this government with these scathing remarks.

Let me state without the fear of contradiction, the office of the Governor has never been at ease than it is now; not with what characters in the Kefiano Media Team will want the world to believe. There are legions of positive things on ground to prove that it is soundly not jittery.

We are actually worried that if we keep quiet, similar characters who are on the side lines clapping as if they had achieved some pyrrhic victory through casting aspersions of their frustration on the activities of the Governor would walk round the streets feeling happy and big headed.

They are under heat to placate their pay master; to try to appear as if they are not hit, everything; including the fact that even the dinning table in the kitchen of the Government House is being monitored. May this kind of amnesia not visit any one of us, if we desire to know the truth about what the Mutfwang government has done.

No one denies the fact that the gubernatorial election is around the corner; and being the serious governor that still has the mandate of his people, anything worth doing for the people will not be out of place to execute.

The ongoing medical outreach in the three senatorial districts is not haphazardly planned; it is a product of an effort predicated on the needs of the people, which they deserve.

Those of them who are worried sick that such an initiative is pursued for the good of the Plateau people are certainly in the class of those who need to be attended to. It is only sick people who would wish others are like them, and that is why we shall be expecting them at each of the three centers air marked for the initiative.

They are aware that nothing in Section 99(2) of the 2026 Electoral Act has been breached. They are aware, the government has executed more projects than one for the benefit of the Plateau people.

If this is one of the ways they have employed to desuade and sway the opinions of the good people of the state about what Governor Caleb Mutfwang has executed; they failed even on arrival.

Whoever must have instructed them otherwise to the letters of this section certainly must need to return to the classroom for debriefing in constitutional matters, for sure they were poorly told what to believe.

The outreach cannot be given a different colouration; just so that they may be seen to be busy. While Plateau citizens have applauded the effort, the government can only continue to add to several other initiatives that have given the state greater visibility.

What the Kefiano Media Team would have loved the government to do is to utilize personal resources to execute programmes intended for the good of its people. While this thinking begins and ends on a childish note, no government waits until the end of its tenure to carry out its programmes for the people.

We actually thought the team was up in arms with ideas-based engagement so that they can be educated; sadly did we realize that their rabble rousing actions were intended to seek to be educated on what has been on ground from 2023 until date.

Since they appear to be new in Plateau State, we shall help them get over the cheap route they have taken; just so that we can bring them on the right track.

If each leader is treated in like manner as these charlatans want, we shall wake up one day only to witness a reduction of credible and pro-people representatives in government.

The alleged "rejection" of the government is only heard on the lips of a few followers of this group. There is nothing they have not carried out on new media platforms to persuade different people to run their manner of campaign; however, in their folly, they are daily losing steam only to accept the reality of the people's choice.

They tell us through hoodwinking of our reasoning that nothing has been working. They easily forget that records are available of what government has done in the health sector. They forget about the transformation so far witnessed in the state's Specialist Hospital, PLASCHEMA and other health- related initiatives.

They tell us that there hasn't been employment in the state; yet they failed to note that for several years, a ban on employment was placed in the civil service. A walk to The Nigeria Standard, PRTVC, State Ministry of Information and several other MDAs reveal that many young people have been absorbed and earning a living.

They tell us that our roads are filled with potholes; they forget that they and us are users of the same roads that have been properly taken care of. Come to think of it, have communities in all the zones not been affected by road construction and other facilities that daily help commutters?

The presence of the Federal Government through collaboration has never been felt in the years past than in the last four years. From schools to road construction and appointments of our sons and daughters in federal establishments have been more pronounced than what used to be obtained.

Check out the transformation on the transport sector. If they don't have eyes to see, let them compare what used to obtain in Plateau Riders years before the coming of this administration.

Check the records made in agriculture and tourism. Could we have made any in road if new facilities and initiatives were not introduced in these sectors? Today, it is more profitable being in agriculture and other skills acquisition schemes encouraged by the administration.

It is a truism security is a primary function of any government. The Governor Caleb Mutfwang administration has never gone to sleep, it has been daily working with security to bring peace to several communities affected by genocidal and land-grabing attacks in Bassa, Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Mangu, Bokkos, Jos North and South, Wase and Kanam amongst many other communities.

Governor Mutfwang has never shied away from a desire to protect the people of the state from its enemies. His collaborative efforts with security agencies have helped douse the tension witnessed in the past.

The volume of what Governor Caleb Mutfwang administration has recorded cannot be disparaged for political reasons. In many instances, these records speak of the determination that the narrative can only be changed for the better if we are united in bringing development to the state.

There are only a few, like the band in the Kefiano Media Team that would prefer to stock the embers of disunity through deliberate creation of none existent channels to give the government a bad name only so that they can hang its leader.

We have since become wiser. There are mountains of achievements we have not mentioned here. If only they take away the logs in their eyes, we are sure that they can clearly see that the bus has since left the point they want us to remain to the destination the state desires to be located.

The bus is large enough to accommodate all of us. Do not be left in the station the state has since left to compete with its peers in development for the future.
